The Magic Flight Launch Box is a high-performance personal vaporizer that won’t break the bank. I really dig this thing but I know there’s a lot of folks out there who try to hit it and they’re like “eh, I’m not sure I’m really feeling it, man.” That’s probably because you’re an egotistical freak who thinks you know everything about everything and didn’t bother to read the bloody directions.
The thing about the MFLB is that it looks really simple, but it actually has a bit of a learning curve, so if you’re an long time stoner who thinks you know everything, guess what: you don’t. You need to check your self before you wreck your herbs.
When it comes to getting the right kinds of clouds and results, Magic-Flight has done most of the work for you, by including a super handy instructional guide into every Launch Box kit they produce. They list with it a breathing tutorial including TWO different inhalation methods. Yeah that’s right: two different breathing methods! You may think these guys are just stoner hippies who carve wooden vape pipes, but no, these are highly educated and innovative engineers that take the user experience of their devices extremely seriously.
This is evidenced by the meticulous care and attention to detail placed in crafting the vape itself – I mean come on, it’s a whole convection oven built into a neat little wooden shell. That’s pretty rad in itself. Not to mention they offer cool artistic Etch Lids and their inspirational aphorism written on the back of the vape. But back to the task at hand: getting huge clouds.
The first thing to make sure of is that you’ve thoroughly pulverized your blends. After grinding your nugs up normally, you want to use the specially designed MFLB Finishing Grinder to get your herb down to a fine, powdery consistency. The Finishing Grinder is a little funky at first b/c it doesn’t feature teeth, rather it’s more of a press with holes, allowing your grinds to fall evenly into the Launch Box trench.
Once you get your herb into the trench and your glass draw stem attached, take a fully charged MFLB battery and press it into the node on the outside of the vape. Then what I like to do is look down the draw stem and make sure that the light is on, then watch for a couple of seconds ‘til you see a faint wispy cloud appear in the tube. At this point you’re good to keep holding the battery and start breathing.
There are two, count ‘em two breathing methods you can try: one involves small, sips on the draw stem over an 8-second period while holding in the battery. The other instructs users to take long, gentle inhales over the same period of time. We don’t recommend holding the battery in longer than 8 seconds per inhalation as this may result in a little bit of charring, not combustion just over heating certain areas of the trench.
